Helen of Troy/Sparta

I'm a big Greek mythology fan. GREEK GEEK!!! but anywhoo there are a lot of different versions of Helen of Sparta. Did she willingly go with Paris? Or did he actually kid-nap her?

During her time in Troy, did she end up falling for him or was it just rape when he got horny?

Some of the stories I've read on this topic were; Nobody's Princess and Nobody's Prize by Esther Friesner, Goddess of Yesterday by Caorline B. Cooney, Troy by Adele Geras, Mythology by Edith Hamilton and a series of other common known myths. I, personally believe that this story really happened, but how? There are no records, written down, of the true adventure.

What I think happened, is that Paris came to Sparta to meet with the king, fell in love with Helen's beauty and kid-napped her. But while she stayed with him in Troy, she too fell in love. But when Menelaus came to take her back, Helen felt so guilty for leaving her children without a mother that she went home silently like a good wife, but all the time thinking about her lover, missing him deeply.

What do you think? I'd really love to hear what your thoughts are on Helen's story.
